A Beer Collaboration No More (and New Beginnings)

(Brunswick, ME) – Greg Koch’s central theme at the recent Craft Brewer’s Conference was collaboration. A month later, one of the great ongoing beer collaborations of our time has come to an end. Word of out of Maine and Belgium today is that the partnership between Chris Lively of Ebenezer’s Pub and Struise is done. Struise will not be part of the new pub that Chris is opening in Brunswick, ME, (aka the project formerly known as The Pannepot Cafe) and will not be attending this year’s Belgian Beer Fest in Maine. At the same time, Struise has announced that it will be opening up its own brewery in Oostvleteren in Belgium.

(Athens, GA) – Terrapin Beer Co. will release another beer in its Side Project Series this summer:

Maggie’s Farmhouse Ale

. The seventh edition will be a Saison and it will be the perfect time of year for it. Arriving in stores last week was Terrapin Side Project 90 Shelling Scotch Ale, Side Project #6.

The Side Project beers are generally available everywhere Terrapin is sold except Alabama and Chattanooga, TN(Georgia, Tennessee-Nashville area, S.C., N.C., Florida, and Pittsburgh-PA).

Woodcut No. 2, Worth the Wait

Odell Brewing releases Woodcut No. 2 and previews the beer at SAVOR: an American Craft Beer & Food Experience

The beer has spoken. With a nice “pop” of the cork, Woodcut No. 2 revealed it is ready to be enjoyed.

On June 1st, 2009, Odell Brewing will officially release Woodcut No. 2. The oak aged golden ale was brewed on the brewery’s pilot brewing system. It aged for several months in virgin oak barrels, and then bottle conditioned in cork finish, 750 ml bottles.
